Today - 28th Jan '05

Well Hi, my first entry, I'm going to bore you with my day....Woke up at 06:50, or more to the point, got woken up... Had cereal. Actually no I didn't I was worrying about missing the bus. Anyhow stood at the bus stop for erm 7 minutes waiting for the 472, which I missed, so i thought I'll wait for the 72 - strange thing was, the 473 turned up first which is better as it takes me straight to Liverpool without all the hassle of going through Birkenhead. Once I got to University, I purchased a Bot

Optimism

I've been away from my computer for a couple of days now so I was interested to see what, if anything, had changed. Not much really. Possibilities for a cold snap are increasing slightly but I am still trying to be cautious. Difficult though as I am more hopeful than I have been for ages.

Introduction, Nov/dec 2004

Hello everyone- I have decided to do my own Weather Almanac, which consists of my own personal summaries of the weather I experienced in those months, plus brief bits at the end on the weather that the country as a whole experienced.I will be starting with the latest months and working backwards (also updating subsequent months as they happen). If anyone wants to know what I remember of a month earlier back within the period 1993-2004, then by all means give a request and I'll do one for the mont

Frustrating!!

I reckon if it wasn't for the North Sea being warmer than usual we would have at least 6 inches of snow here. The temp has been between 1.8c and 2.9c since Sunday morning and in that time we have had a lot of RAIN - yes, rain!! Not a bit of snow. If it was just 0.5c lower we would have had a fairly respectable snowfall. The rest of this month is looking like being more of the same. Oh well, there's always February.

First Day

Blogs eh? Well what a frustrating day today. Temps no higher than 2.9c but nothing but rain, sleet and hail and not one flake of snow. I remain patient though, i'm willing to wait 8/9 days (if Steve Murrs prediction comes off). Its now 19:15 and I'm logging off for now. Hoping for a snow shower or two tonight but I wont hold my breath

Boring!

This current spell of weather is the meteorological equivalent of beige. Whisper it quietly but I would even welcome some zonality! I'm keeping my eyes fixed on next week for a potential cold spell but I am hard pressed to find any positivity. Must remind myself there is still 5/6 weeks left of winter.

Lots Of Rain

Now I haven't been watching the weather today but I sure as hell wasn't expecting this much rain today. It has not stopped since about 1pm. Very wet and cold. Miserable you might say.

In The Beginning...

There was the big bang, skip a few million years, Earth forms, another few million years, humans appeared and built wardrobes. :DToday, I built a wardrobe, well two wardrobes actually and this really awkward thing which went between the two, held on the wall by these two rubbish brackets; I'm pretty sure it won't fall off, I know I wouldn't like sleeping under it though. Noticed today, it's still light at 16:30, amazing, getting closer to summer and still no snow (give me snow). Ok, bored of t

Why Am I Here?

I became interested in the weather at the age of about three or four, mainly observational based on looking at clouds and changing weather patterns. In 1993, I developed more of a general interest, relating wind directions to their characteristic weather, and also becoming interested in mists, fogs, atmospheric pollution and dust, and the 'fog effects' that rain, hail or snow can cause when falling on somewhere on the horizon. My meteorological interest particularly soared during 1995, a year with
