MON: Everything Changes En-Route…

ECML-Route-Weather Watch

Welcome to my Blog, bringing you my weather observations through North East Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and into the City of York during my daily commute from Melton Mowbray, by car and train.

Monday 28th January 2008:

Everything Changes En-Route…

It was one of those commutes this morning that makes the journey so interesting when it comes to weather watching.

This morning in Melton Mowbray the town was blanketed with fog, there was also a slight hint of something colder with a layer of slushy ice on the back windscreen of the car. During the drive to Grantham along the A607 the fog was quite thick until the village of Croxton where it cleared.

On board the train heading north, there was a light frost through the Newark area and a clear sky. By Retford and heading towards Doncaster high patchy cloud became apparent and the frost and fog of the south was replaced with a good old damp grey morning. On arrival into York the cloud has broken letting some weak sun shine through.

Tomorrow; Dry and cloudy and becoming mild.
