FRI: It’s always better up North!

Welcome to my Blog, bringing you my weather observations through North East Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and into the City of York during my daily commute from Melton Mowbray, by car and train.

Friday 8th February 2008:

It's always better up North!

Melton Mowbray 06:30 – 7.4'C

It's been a week of contrasts during the daily commute from Melton Mowbray to York. Leicestershire has always been grey and overcast, but by the time the train gets to York, the sky is clear and it's a nice start to the day.

Today was very much the same; there was low thick cloud cover in Melton at 06:30 but it was dry. Pretty much the same conditions along the A607 during the short drive to Grantham. By the time I was on board the train heading north the cloud was breaking up to once again lead to another glorious morning breaking over North Yorkshire.

The local temperature at 06:30 in Melton Mowbray was 7.4'C, the lowest overnight temperature recorded was 6.6'C.

The Weekend & Next Week; A bright, dry weekend is expected which will be good when I go and watch Leciester City on Saturday. Next week speaks of fog & frost!
