TUE: Rouge Showers.

ECML-Route-Weather Watch

Welcome to my Blog, bringing you my weather observations through North East Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and into the City of York during my daily commute from Melton Mowbray, by car and train.

Tuesday 26th February 2008:

Rouge Showers.

Melton Mowbray 06:30hrs 10.8'C

After a windy night across Melton Mowbray this morning it was clear and still with plenty of morning sunshine and patchy cloud. During the drive out of Melton to Grantham that surreal weather event happened where rain starts to fall but all around appears to be sunny, it was only when I looked directly overhead that I saw the large black cloud responsible for the rouge shower.

On board the train and heading north the sunny spells continued. There were some large black clouds hanging over Retford, which eventually produced some rain through the Ranskill area.

In York this morning it is sunny and a little windy.

Temperature at 06:30 was 10.8'C, lowest recorded overnight temperature 9.7'C.

Tomorrow; A chance of frost for the morning commute.
