MON: Summer; don’t be fooled…
Welcome to my Blog, bringing you my weather observations through North East Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and into the City of York during my daily commute from Melton Mowbray, by car and train.
Monday 31st March 2008:
Summer; don't be fooled…
Melton Mowbray 06:30hrs 1.2'C
So the clocks went forward on Saturday night and Sunday was a warm sunny day. It brought out plenty of my neighbours busy cleaning their cars and mowing their lawns in shorts and t-shirts.
But this morning there was a strong reminder that it's just not summer yet.
A good layer of ice to scrape of the car first thing with plenty of frost covering the fields throughout the commute to York. The sun is out again today and I am hoping it will warm up nicely here in York by lunchtime.
Temperature at 06:30 was 1.2'C, lowest recorded overnight temperature minus 0.9'C. Pressure at 06:30 was 1000 hPa
Tomorrow: Rain clearing.
