Firstly I must apologise for this not being published on Friday when it was written, I have only just noticed it was still in draft.

Summary

Finally we come towards the end of the season, this is the last full blog of the season although there will an update every Friday or Saturday until the end of April.

As expected, it turned unsettled towards the end of last week, however the snow level was high than expected at around 2000-2200m, but still some decent snowfalls did occur above this line.

Again is it set to turn colder over the Alps this week, with winds from the NW, again some uncertainty as to how cold it will turn across the Alps, and how much of the precipitation will fall as snow.

Synoptic Summary

High Pressure to the South West of the UK, this gives cool northerly winds over the UK and colder air is trying to push south across the Alps further East.

The whole system edges further east on Sunday, so the coldest air never quite makes it to the Alps, but still quite cool here.

For next week, there is low pressure over the UK with North Westerly winds, these winds will push over the Alps, gradually turning it more unsettled and colder towards next weekend,
