Cowslip colony
These have been re-established locally - by gathering seed early summer, and scattering in it on suitable new areas soon after Christmas.
Like all Primulas, the seeds need light and a cold period to germinate well.
They prefer a reasonably open area where grass is not too dominant, they often grow naturally in our 'lawn'.
One a group is naturalised they look after themselves and new clumps appear some way off.
