    Covering in Tunbridge wells of about 1 inch. Sky looks pregnant but no snow falling

    Great to hear people getting snow. Here in Tunbridge we are getting a light sleet. Drove down from Orpington, gor really excited that we were going to have epic journey back as it was practically a blizzard. Sadly it all turned sleety on the M25. Fingers crossed.

    To me, it smells of snow. These cold events now aren't happy till theyve dumped a load of snow...

    Interesting. Makes sense to me. I notice that the models often underestimate the stubbornness of cold. This last week has been a great example. 3 day forecasts constantly predicting breakdowns of cold - as they are now - that never materializes. watch this space!

    Given how cold it is, and how the models seem to understimate the snow risk I think the inland areas have got a good chance of some very heavy snow. Stay out of the car!

    I know it's winter but.... is it normal to see so many lows?! http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/europe/surface_pressure.html I think this winter event has been consistently understimated since the first big dump. Not sure it's going to go quietly.... echoes of 1963.
