Standing in the middle of an open field earlier in strongest gusts, was pretty strong, 65mph at a guess. Not strong enough to hold me up leaning into it. Imby not that big a deal. Over 80 would have been more exciting. Should have gone to the iow for the day -

122mph isle of whight apparently. Id guess 50-60 here so far -

Who used to listen to the shipping forcast late at night in bed when they were a youngster?... Cant remember hearing "severe storm 11" being mentioned. Thought id have a listen for the first time in 25 years? a minute ago, and is mentioned several times -

Hasn't stopped snowing here now since 6am yesterday morning. Always light occasionally moderate. Had a few big flakes earlier, but always in between bands. Total of 5" at a guess, large snowdrifts, and blocked roads everywhere, accept the main ones which have been cleared now. did pretty well in the end, so can't complain (that's a first ha! ) Picture of the road I normally go to work down: (doesn't give you much of an idea as poor quality, but it was up to my waist)
