  1. Whoops! I'm actually in Hawkhurst now, so just a tad further away. Stopped and melted now, of course
  2. Awesome looking storm! Seen a couple cgs with some deep rolling thunder
  3. Ground covered in hail -some of which around half-inch in diameter, plenty of T+L and no power after a nearby bolt. Just north of Tenterden
  4. Occasional thunder so far this afternoon with passing heavy showers. A couple cgs came out the back of a cell to my south.
  5. Still without power here, not expected to be back til Friday afternoon at the earliest. We're affected by 7 separate incidents and only one has been fixed so far. Still a lot of people out repairing damage caused by the storm, but the last of the large trees and branches are finally being cleared from the main roads and back lanes in the area.
  6. VID_20210803_114304.mp4 Around 3 inches fell in less than an hour. The fast flowing water had large pieces of tarmac and even 3 parts of a brick trundling down the hill. Short clip of how things were after it had calmed down just a little. ... That was fun
  7. WOW WOW WOW. Extreme amounts of rain between Tenterden and Appledore. Fast flowing muddy water everywhere.
  8. Incoming! A dozen or so rumbles of thunder from this, though its gone quiet as it has got closer
  9. Thunder to my east with towering clouds in all directions.
  10. WOW. One of closest cgs ever witnessed, awesome positive shotgun boom. The storm out Robertsbridge way looks epic from where I am with a load of really low scud, almost looks as though its scraping the ground
  11. Can see the tops of the storms leaving French coast from where I am, lighting up nicely every so often. Hopefully they can build further
  12. Oooooh yes! A stunning bright lilac cg followed by shotgun thunder
  13. Rumbles of thunder for the past hour or so as the storm brushed past to my east. Also some weak rotation briefly on the back end.
  14. Distant thunder and flashes to my south. A little teaser before tonight's possible action
  15. Finally some heavy snow here after a a few days of light stuff. Had 6-8cm on some surfaces by the end of Monday with some small areas of drifting, closer to a foot of snow. A little melt the past two days leaving paths and roads clear, these are covered again with around a cm of snow so far tonight. -5.3c last night, expect to beat this tonight once the showers swing back north-westwards and skies clear.
  16. All snow here now, still rather wet. Slushy deposits on some surfaces. That wind cuts right through you!
  17. As others have been reporting - slowly making the changeover here now with small flakes starting to appear. Temps dropping painfully slowly right now, but it'll get there1.4c/0.9c Enjoy all
  18. WOW! Multiple loud booms of thunder here. Some nice pink coloured IC lightning too
  19. Makes a change viewing a distant storm to my north instead of to my south! Haven't used any fuel to see these distant flashes either - BONUS!
  20. The lightning seen on the RH&D railway webcam is likely facing north. Dungeness and the Romney marsh area is very flat and will have an unrestricted view
  21. Big increase in flashes now, as others report. Easily 30+ per minute at times, so a lot more than detectors show. I'm going to head Hastings direction to get a little closer
  22. It's pleasant enough viewing along the coast, though moving very slow and still a fair way off land. As others have said, it's expected to largely die away. Personally hoping eastern cells can maintain themselves, I'm easily entertained. Activity increasing.
