Light hail showers on and off in Edinburgh, looking rather dark to the NE of here maybe something heavier to come!!

This snowfall was not forecast, snow was only forecast to fall on hills above 400m must have been the cooling effect due to the heavy precipitation. Snow has now turned back to rain.

The snow will settle after dark if these showers keep going, they are pretty heavy at times.

We are to close to the coast in Edinburgh, and the precipitation is to light rather disappointing!! Forecast was a bit out saying heaviest in the east!!

Would expect a few inches here in the Lothians capital for snow, Penicuik lol and congrats to LSS for getting into Edin uni.

Lothian and Borders will upgrade to Amber nearer the time as well.
