  1. Sadly, it looks as though the intensity of the snow is fading fast as it approaches here. Daughter's school announced that as the forecast is for light snow it will remain open. Disappointing after all the hype!
  2. Just in case this link hasn't been posted lately, here are the seismograms for the Canaries http://www.ign.es/ig...alesAyerHoy.do# El Hierro seems to be a little quieter today.
  3. The seismograms from UK stations show the power of the quake (look at the long period charts) especially when compared to the 7.1 quake a couple of days ago. You can also see the planet is still ringing! Uk seismographs
  4. I see that the thought-to-be extinct volcano Prestahnukur in Iceland is having a bit of a fit today. 38 tremors in the last six hours or so with 4 >3.0 http://en.vedur.is/e...okull/#view=map
  5. Rain shower (unexpected) here at the moment and below zero, probably not a good combination!
  6. It looks like the snow has completely by-passed me . No more snow for here for the foreseeable future, alas!
  7. Currently 2.5oC here and in between rain showers. Not too impressed so far but activity seems to be increasing to the SW of the area and becoming snowier, at least according to the radar. Met office Invent page shows that the rainfall pattern is not at all like they forecast.
  8. While we await the next opportunity for significant snow (not holding our collective breath) here is a song about a colder time
