  1. Contrary, shorts and rain go together like soup and a spoon!
  2. If this holds up we should be in for a nice bit soon enough ?
  3. Yes very strange, in Rhydyfelin continuous v. Light snow atm. Where I live on the side of the valley around half an inch of patchy slushy snow - very slippery. In the fields I can see below not a single bit of settled snow. marginal to say the least
  4. Sleet/ snowflakes in Cardiff - Cathays way
  5. http://www.cardiff.ac.uk/news/articles/minor-variations-in-ice-sheet-size-can-trigger-abrupt-climate-change-13448.html
  6. Finally finish my Uni essay and decide to quickly check this mornings model output - UKMO makes for rather upsetting viewing but atleast the GFS up to midrange with good height building to the NE. Well, off to bed for me, I'm beginning to see things... >.<
  7. Very odd. At Radyr trainstation there was heavy snow yet before it and after this is/was nothing?
  8. Andy: any news on temp around there? keep the updates flowing guys, nowt in Cardiff yet, but cold.
  9. yes, the 'red zone' (sounds pretty cool doesn't it? ) well and truly covering all the way down to Northern Cardiff, and in his mini forecast just then, Derek mentioned 'the valleys' as opposed to the heads of the valleys.
  10. Thanks for all your reply's guys Fingers crossed we see that front stall and the snow stacks up !
  11. I posted this in the other thread also, thanks A question if I may: There is so much hype surrounding this, red warnings and talk of cut off villages. Yet, the snow forecast is but half of that which fell in Dec 2010, when I hardly heard a peep?
  12. So upsetting. Instead of being home in the valleys staying up to watch the blizzard I will be staying at my friends in cardiff to get to my exam A question if I may: There is so much hype surrounding this, red warnings and talk of cut off villages. Yet, the snow forecast is but half of that which fell in Dec 2010, when I hardly heard a peep?
  13. I plan to spend it struggling to get into college to do my two maths exams tomorrow afternoon :l
  14. Also showed a fair bit for us down south, though, not as good as the UKMO (and not as trustworthy IMO) I suggest to not ignore this GFS run, but view it with scepticism. Overnight runs V.Important! Angle of the low is not so SW, not a good thing - A little more marginal for the far West perhaps. Further on at 84hr (Saturday morning) we have colder uppers over us (whole country in at least -4, with -8 uppers fast approaching)
  15. Friday: Snowfall for the majority of Wales, potentially all - but there is the possibility that the milder air forces its way further inland. Thing is though, all of what you said could at this stage, come true. Time will tell, but as I said before, watch for the westward shift of colder air overnight and tomorrow (I hope) :L
  16. Hmm, don't worry yet you in the West, I have a feeling the Easterly extend of mild won't be as far-reaching as is currently projected. We shall see, but watch for this over the evening and into tomorrow.
  17. Clear skies now, getting colder, should be an icy one tomorrow! Night all.
  18. We on that next level sh*t now. Heavy, falling in straight lines(always a good sign ) To the lamp post!
  19. Once again, turning to heavier snow. I'm surprised that being between Tredegar and Cathays, I don't have anything like what others have?
  20. So further inland it is falling as snow? Surely a good sign for us down in the SE, if it gets to here? (Wow, you can tell I've been doing too much maths recently, spelled it as 'sine' about 5 times haha!)
