  1. Well I dont know! But surely its extremely unlikely to be as bad as last year. MetO have stuck their neck out that we'll get cold so fingers crossed
  2. So excited to have anything better than the mush of last year! 3.8C please!
  3. 12.1C for me please :-) i hope im wrong and its cooler!
  4. Bugger late again! Seems like a classic year of summer weather when the kids go back! 15.4C please
  5. Ahhhh im late! My June guess was awful but im gonna try going lowish again 15.9C please
  6. I think we'll be looking at a very similar CET to last year, so ill go for 8.9C please
  7. 4.7C please. I think we might flip flop this month between very mild and very cold, making it fairly average overall
  8. 5.1 please. Id be happy with a handful of frosts at this point let alone snow!!
  9. Early New Year resolution to take part in this thread and Im late! November has been atrocious but dont see much change coming 6.9 please
  10. I'm in Ashurst near Steyning so not far away. Had a short burst that left a tiny amount on the grass and bins, but when I left work (Gatwick) there was about 1cm settled everywhere. Damn that coastal effect!
  11. We've had 8cm in Ashurst, been snowing steadily since about 7.30am although did stop for a time mid-afternoon. Took Basil my mini dachshund out for a walk, bless him he was struggling and got a very cold tummy!! So relieved we finally got something :-)
  12. Seems a massive difference in temp on the coast at the moment and just inland. I've seen Shoreham and Brighton are 3-5C whereas here in Ashurst, near Steyning it's 0.6. That's a big difference from a mere 5 miles or so. Not posted on here before just been a prolific lurker! So excited for tomorrow 3rd time lucky eh!?
  13. I'm feeling very jealous. Here in West Sussex there isn't a sniff of sleet or snow in the forecast. It is a chilly 0.1 at the mo though with clear skies. Felt very hard done by also when at 1C on Sunday night it was pure rain grr! Love winter but the will it/won't it sure is stressful!! :-)
  14. Averageish, 4.4 for me :-) Happy New Year!
  15. Not expecting snow in December, at least not down here in the South 6.0C
  16. From other peoples posts, it seems that to work out the overall mean for the month you simply add the mean max and min and divide by 2. Isn't this rather inaccurate? In December the night is far longer than the day so the average for the day will be closer to the min than the max. Probably quite sad I've worked out how to weight max and min for each month but it makes a big difference and is far more accurate. October was incredibly warm with a brief interlude mid month when max temps were slightly below average and there were some nights approaching freezing. Also quite dry, just 28mm. Mean max 16.0 Mean min 9.4 Overall average 12.2 Highest max 28.7 (2nd) Lowest max 11.0 (18th) Highest min 15.7 (3rd) Lowest min 0.7 (18th and 20th)
  17. 5.1 at the moment, am only a few miles from the coast. Very slight frost last night though and lowest temp a few days ago was 1.8. Feels bloody cold outside though.
