Thunder

yea, i was stuck out on the bike in the middle of it. Really heavy torrential rain for a fair number of hours. I was stuck in deland which is about 20 miles from here and i got out just in time. I flew over it a few days after and it was just total devastation. The way some of the divisions look it's just surprising that not many more people were killed. One thing they didnt report in a lot of the news reports online, was that there was a house in the middle of the main path, that wasnt "touched". All around it was devestation, but this house just had a few shingles off and a couple of broken windows. Weather's weird, huh

we've been under a tornado watch for most of the night, but luckily nothing. had a few bits of semi hard rain. but nothing major.... the tornadoes they had in louisiana were bad. worse than the one here. i think the last news report i saw was 7 in like 3 hours or something like that.

hey guys... Sorry to hijack the thread (in a way - not sure if there's another thread about this), xmas day for me is now called TWISTMAS!! Had a F2 tornado come traight over the top of daytona beach airport here in florida, it annihalated Embry Riddle Aeronautical Uni's flight line (only 2 planes untouched) half their buildings had major damage, and the maintainence hanger was totally destroyed. After it hit the airport, it came over the top of my apartment complex and totally destroyed about 8 apartment blocks, we were lucky (me & my fiancee) we just suffered a broken window. but the tornado came over the top of our block and touched down in the carpark before destrying the others. here's some links to the news stories..... sorry for being away the past couple months. but things happened... anyways... numerous cracks of thunder and flashes of cg... in fact some CG hit up the road. had a fair number of torrential rain storms and a couple of thunderstorms last week... i'm getting a good tally up now i tell ya.... not really had internet so couldnt report them, but still getting there heh... btw it seems to be moving north as it's just on the north side of the house and started on south side about 45m ins ago

thunder n distant lightning going off every 25-25/30 seconds or so... cant see the actual lightning but can see the edges of the flashes

nice couple of storms today down south.. was in woking this morning and then chertsey, on the way back took a slight detour (i wasnt driving so wasnt sure where we were), but a lot of thunder occasional flashes on the way up.... stopped as we got closer to brum, and now it's totally chucking it down up here!!!!! wahey hopefully that will be 2 in one day another one for me.. maybe even two

couple of small rumbles at 21:10 or so... didnt see ne lightning, but rumbles were faint. dark skies all over where i was at (the chippy up the road). 2 in one day.. cool

thunder and lightning over walsall and wolverhampton about 17:00... rainwise wasnt really heavy, i think we was on the edges of it, but seemed to be moving southwards..... that's another one on me bedpost :lol:

absolfkinlutely gorgeous 3/4 of an hour of thunder, lightning, anvils galore in bushbury/wolverhampton... i counted 2 maybe even three separate storms that went through one right after the other. plenty of CG and an anvil that was humongous.... i ended up in cannock, and looking towards birmingham, it filled the entire FoV with an 18mm lens, and another anvil over wolves that was almost as flat as my exwifes chest... so you can notch up another 2 for me (i aint greedy )

can you add one to mrmonopoly's tally.. he had a good couple of storms last nite (well 1am this mornin) in south wales and ended up having a long chase

im hoping it is... my GF comes from daytona beach and well i'm hoping to be there in sept.. came back here end of last month from 3 months of more or less constant 25C+ temperatures, 3-4 storms and well the best time in my life *wink* I'm just hoping that when i get back there they all haven't given up and gone home and ill at least see one 'cane this year :o

2 storms to report for today... one about 2:30pm in wantage and one on the way back up around the warwick area... heavy rain a couple of rumbles in wantage, but just heavy rain in warwick (maybe a couple of rumbles, but not too certain)

nice cloud formations this morning, had a bit of rain and what I thought was thunder @ 4:30am this morning, but i was too drunk and half concious to get up and check B) been sunny today but clouded over now and looks like might get some action 2nite
