  1. Thunder and lightning here for the last 20 minutes or so with some hail.
  2. Looking VERY black to the West of here now. And a nice deep rumble of thunder!!
  3. A few distant rumbles here in Walsall late afternoon but nothing more as storms skirted past to the North. Around 7pm, the thunder was heard again, but this time getting nearer. This was the beginning of the best full blown TS have seen here for quite some time. Peak lightning rates were in the region of 4-6 flashes per minute with torrential rain for a while and some nice booming thunder! Nice while it lasted (around an hour!).
  4. Looks like a few showers have popped up in the last 30 minutes or so the the South West of Birmngham. They also seem to be intensifying. EDIT: Make that SW, W and NW!
  5. I was on the main part nearest Birmingham/Scott Arms. A mad dash from home as the clouds were already passing by at home. It is a great viewpoint, certainly the best one locally! Plans are afoot for a visitor centre/cafe in the near future. Hope it doesn't change the place too much
  6. More to come from the West judging by the radar. The leading edge of that last shower looked really amazing and nasty but unfortunately I didn't manage to get a pic of that. Camera is ready now though
  7. Gotta agree with you there! That structure was amazing. Went to Barr Beacon and took a few shots before the heavens opened. The rain looked torrential over the likes of Dudley (as can bee seen on NW radar) as they had disappeared from view.
  8. Makes a change for that not to happen here for once . Just a couple of rumbles heard and it's all moving off NNE now
  9. Rumble of thunder heard here just now.
  10. Rain eased off now after cell moved away to north-east. A few flashes, a few rumbles and torrential rain interspersed with a shower of pea sized hail. Not a bad start
  11. Torrential downpour here now with one rumble of thunder so far.
