  1. In Barnet, North London there were bands of showers coming through all afternoon many with hail and there was some thunder as well most notably at around 2.30pm when ther was a loud clap of thunder to the West. The hail was heavy enough to give a slight cover on the ground very temporarily (see first picture). Nice to see a good showery clean northerly airflow! Here are a couple of pictures.
  2. Hi Here is a brief video of a close lightning strike when I was in Whipsnade, Bedfordshire two days ago on the 3rd May around 2.45pm when a line of heavy showers moved in. This was about the first thunder I've heard all year! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9q1JQa7j-2Y
  3. In North London I experienced some lively weather last night especially around 4.00am with a couple of close lightning strikes the closest of which I managed to record. Here is the link! Derry
  4. Hi Here are a couple of short camcorder clips taken from my home in Barnet, North London on the 28 June 2011. The first is a very close strike at around 1.40pm (BST) and the next is another about 20 minutes later! Hope you can view them OK. Very impressed by all the other reports and clips other people have posted. Derry
  5. Snow has eased off here in Totteridge, North London at the moment. Depths are now 11cm on hard surfaces and 13cm on the grass. So 4-5 inches of snow! Derry
  6. Hi Now snowing heavily in Totteridge, North London; the heaviest snow of the day so far and the wind is picking up as well! Derry
  7. Hi Here in Totteridge, North London there has now been approx. 8cm of snow and it is still snowing steadily. The temperature has been hovering around 0.3C. The news special on the BBC about the snow is interesting and they have now spoken to an executive from the Met Office who said the cold spell would last at least another week! Derry
