I think its the case of looking for summer weather in the "summer".. Instead of the drab 12c with a cold wind on the 31st of July.. Nothing wrong with looking at models and trying to see if its going to get warmer and drier...

last time we had a decent long summer month was april 2011.. Before that June 2010..... Before that June 2009...In 3 whole years.... And you cant class April as summer. August is going the same way as June and July again.. Of course 2 hot days every 3 weeks isnt to bad i guess..

Sunshine and warmth makes alot of people happy... We all know all it takes is sunshine and a gentle breeze this time of year and the temperture would shoot up. Seeing the rain and gales in summer is so disappointing.. Its been a repetative thing for numerous summers in a row..

No it didnt rain consistenty.. April was not the wettest month in living memory..This isnt about getting decent weather all the time.. this is about getting some decent weather in the summer.. Some being the apt word... Weather forecasters love their stats.. Surely they can see by them. That even for UK. The weather as been shockingly bad in recent summers.

Spring wasnt bad? you gotta be kidding? Wasnt April and most of May sort of wet?...

And they have predicted 14c for Leeds at the weekend. Adding in the showers and the strong westerly i doubt it will feel more than 7c/8c.. And this will be the end of the first week of July..

You just know that October and November will be dry as a bone. By the looks of things July is shocking. And i dont see where the heat is going to come from for August... I think we can write this summer off.. And yes today is cloudy and looks like "rain"

If your happy when it rains for months on end then be happy.. I prefer not having to wear a coat for years on end.. So far we have had about 12 days this year that you can consider wearing a t-shirt outside, and that includes the little bit of warmth in late March. People are depressed with the facts we are not getting summer again.. Summer being where you have to water your plants because its been so dry and warm.. growing up i use to always water the garden for my Dad in August.. Now you have weed the garden 6 times a year.. Because the weeds are 3ft high. I personally like the Summer when its nice takes away from other 9 months of the year thats you expect to be dull and overcast..

Once the Atlantic sets in.. You may aswell book your holidays some place else..

Am not fed up anymore. Just got to accept the weather now.. What will really will be annoying will be the facts we will more likely get 10 days of nice weather at the end of September...

Thanks for you replies... I must admit it may not have been has dry as people would like.. But in recent days its felt warmer.. Which i guess is a good sign...

we just don't get weather.. where the days starts off at 8am with really thin high cloud and it burns off by 9:30 to leave a mostly sunny and warm day... All we get now is wind and threatening clouds that stick around from 10 am till 5pm then the sun trys and makes it way through..

How is 95% cloud fine weather? the bulk of the country is under a huge blanket of cloud..

Why is lack of snow in the winter shocking?.. We barely get snow in any winter.... of-course theres always an exception.. If we do get snow its gone the next day. Due to rain that comes from the Atlantic... our weather basically comes from the Atlantic and thats why our summers are garbage on many occasions..And yes this theme could last for a very long time..

Like beens mentioned in some of the posts.. the lack of settled warm weather for more than 2 days(yes yes late May is an exception) Is dissapointing and its been like this for the last few summers..Sure theres been a couple of Junes thrown in thats been nice.. July and August for the last 6 summers have been dire to say the least... Why oh Why can't we just rely on the weather to be nice for a settled amount of time..And please dont mention the drought

My goodness me.. Whats the chances of getting 19c sunny skies and light winds in mid January?? cause today we have wind and cold rain.. Like the gales we get in January... Today's weather is shocking..

What happend to Chris fawkes prediction of something more like summer in the final week of June? remember we had to keep our fingers crossed.. What nonsense.. DON'T give people who like summer weather false hope. Thats all i can say on the matter. The weather today and Sunday are akind to late October.. Rather than last week of June..

Dreadful I think we need a weather forecaster to mention the drought conditions to cheer us all up..
