  1. There are even a couple of us ladies who've been stormchasing! -PBS-
  2. It's because I don't like it that I'm here! I need to keep tabs on it and here amongst you fine folk seems to be the most accurate place to do so!
  3. Snow shower in Northampton. It's not settling, so far, thankfully. I'm one of the apparent few who doesn't like the frozen form of water!
  4. No kidding! This little un-looked-for storm is producing more thunder than I've heard all year! Shame I'm on the wrong side of the building to be able to see what the cloud looks like - from this window, I can see blue skies and towering cumulous - all the action is happening beyond my field of view.
  5. Am I hallucinating, or is it thundering on the south side of Northampton? -PBS-
  6. Turned out there was still some spark in the cloud after all, though only a handful! An awful lot of rain, though! Thanks for the responses! -PBS-
  7. Hi guys Can anyone tell me if that mass that's moving SW from Brum is electrified and if so, how strongly? thanks -PBS-
  8. It's probably gained in strength now it's left Northampton - that's what usually happens!!
  9. Well, it's been mostly rain, with maybe 8 or 9 flashes of lightning the entire duration, but by Northampton standards, it might as well as well be a supercell!!
  10. I feel your pain, Pat  Northampton's no better! -PBS-
  11. Hi guys Just wanted to pick some brains. I happened to be awake at about half three this a.m. (don't ask!), and, on the offchance, looked out the window. It was fairly cloudy, but there was a whole load of blue-ish light to the north west that I could see in the clear slots behind 'ordinary' clouds. Was this NLC? If so, it was incredibly bright, even through the cloud cover! thanks -PBS-
  12. Is it fair to say that members of the NW Storm chase teams are excluded from membership? Or do we get some kind of deluxe membership for having to travel halfway around the world just to get storms because their home towns (e.g. Northampton - storm dying ground) are so utterly pants for them! -PBS-
  13. Did you notice how that lot that just passed over was electric until it reached N'pton, then died over us, and looks like it's powered up again now it's passed over!
  14. First thunder of the day in Northampton!
  15. I think I'd emphasise the 'sort of' If it is pepping up, as usual it won't be us who get's the benefit, will it!
  16. The Northampton Storm Shield holds firm for yet another day! -PBS-
  17. North of where you are, and south of where I am! I share your -PBS-
  18. And another line of thundery showers dies as it nears Northants  -PBS-
  19. Looks like whatever was providing the brief thunder in Northampton has died, judging by the lightning detector. Typical. Northampton: storms come here to die! -PBS-
  20. Nicely done! Can I be nosey and ask what phone you used to capture them with? cheers -PBS-
  21. I really hope so, as I don't have a TV! -PBS-
