    Just had an intense cell over derby lots of precipitation and thunder and lightning seems to have moved fast as sun is now trying to come out again

    Im thinking something maybe brewing in derby has been overcast all day but towards the a52 there is some darkening of the skies. We had a storm around 12am this morning which I slept through but partner heard

    Suddenly gone very dark here and wind has picked up a bit too no thunder yet...

    i experienced something very similiar to this while on holiday in Ibiza i think it was about 6-7 years ago, it suddenly got very windy out of nowhere, there were lots of clouds in the air, and it continued into the evening. Then during the night we had an almighty rain storm, no thunder or lightning, just torrential rain for about 3-4 hours. The next day it was as clear as a bell. It was a very strange weather experience.

    i live/work in the area, i know this may not be very helpful but at 1pm I noticed out of nowhere it had got very dark and then we had a really heavy downpour accompnied by strong winds which lasted about 15/20minutes..

    Got caught in a belter of a storm yesterday, kicked off around 5:30pm on the a50 towards stoke on trent, very heavy rain, a very close cg strike went off as my car started shaking and the thunder was like an explosion, wasnt pleasent to drive in, when i reached my destination it rumbled on til about 7pm, not seen a storm like that for at least 2/3 years excellent stuff

    We have about 2inches around Derby, all buses have been cancelled, and unlike monday it doesnt seem to be melting... hoping it sticks for a while

    just been to my uncle who lives in Willington in Derbyshire. He mentioned early hours this morning that thier either was a small tornado or a squall and showed me the damage that this caused, it was not alot, but the wind was strong enough to blow roof tiles off four houses and uproot a large tree. It was too dark for me to get photos.

    rather intense storm around 7:15pm, gave some rather heavy intense rainfall, and some very gusty winds, rain was being blown up a hill! lightning was quite intense too with some large rumbles of thunder,

    snow now in derby but the ground is sodden from some sleet earlier and it isnt over heavy so i doubt it will settle.
