  1. If I'm right 18 inches are 457 mm  :o :o :o yes, it's pretty immense
  2. June the 27th, in the afternoon at 6:15 PM near my village. (near Cremona) Two pics, one when the supercell was growing and one about the LP completely formed Ciao Luca
  3. Incredible mammatus clouds near Milan some days ago, pictures by Andrea Bosoni from www.centrometeolombardo.com Ciao
  4. I don't have stats of Alta Badia and Val Gardena, but I often go there... in January usually temps are around -5°c max and -15°C min. Don't worry you'll have a snowy week in Alta Badia starting from tuesday and cold temperatures.... have fun! (You're lucky)
  5. Now only a short message, later I'll complete with graphics and other data. Today a really strong fohn over northern Italy with records everywhere.... In the Alps near Cuneo 550 mt. asl up to +28.6°C This morning in my town (45 mt asl) a minimum temp of 4°C and at at noon........... 23°C This year we don't have winter, no cold, no snow, no rain..... only dry and sometimes HOT..... last year I closed winter season with more than one meter of snow.... It seems a different planet
  6. The maximum excursion that I remember was from -10° to +19°C in 3 hours and two years ago from 1°C to +29°C; in some places -2° to +31°C in March!!!!! Cremona is in the middle of the Po valley and Alps are 50km far from me. In the northern part of the Po valley, near the Alps, in western Lombardy and Piemonte region, sometimes winds are over 110 km/h. In 1999-2000 winter season we had 30 days with weak or moderate fohn and 6 with strong one. This year is the first day in this season. Ciao
  7. Here the Parma weather data, very similar to mine, now I'm not at home so I can't check. Also a webcam image. The cloud on the bottom right (the one with the virga inside) is over the Garda lake at 90km north from the webcam location.
  8. Here my weatherstation data as attachment. It's weird the dewpoint "jump" but that is tipical before a strong fohn heating. Yesterday the max temp. was +5,9° This is not a record fohn, strong wids are up to 100km/h sometimes and I remember a morning, a lot of years ago, after a early morning with fog, ice and -10°C, a strong fohn arrived at noon and the temperature rised up to +19°C!!!!!
  9. My weather station is not online, these are from a friend of mine living 35 km south east from me... Now I'm going home, I'll try to obtain some larger pictures from my weather station and also a text data, weather is the same in my village. I also have a lot of fohn examples from the past, I'll find out some Ciao
  10. Fohn arrived this morning and now it's quite strong!! Without commments, as attachments, two images of temperature and wind history..... Sky is completely clear and the colour is a deep blue that I usually find at 2000 mt asl, but I live at 45 m. Happy new year
  11. .. here is the "winter" In Friuli region some days ago..... without comments The complete thread page http://forum.meteonetwork.it/showthread.ph...0370&page=5 Snow seems so far from our plains this year
  12. Here a useful link to watch weather conditions in the Dolomites... It's a friend of mine weather station situated in Pedraces (Alta Badia) at 1340 m. asl Webcam links: http://www.starrylink.it/webcam/pedraces/index.htmlClick on the image to obtain a large (beautiful) view Upper level webcam (1850 m. asl) http://www.starrylink.it/webcam/santacroce/index.html Weather station link: http://www.starrylink.it/webcam/pedraces/pedraces.html In the western Italian Alps yesterday up to 1 m of fresh snow; that sounds good! Ciao
  13. My forecasts are for few snow on Alps untill the second part of december. Something more on the northern side; Switzerland and Austria, but not cold temperatures and not too good to ski. High pressure on the east are keeping dry conditions, it's the worst start of season I ever seen. I'm looking for some past situations, for example I'm analizing december 1953, similar to this 2006, with strong HP, southern winds or weak westerlies and high temps. I'll consider only January to ski on Alps this year, hope again in some changes around Christmas not before. Sorry for errors Luca
  14. In Tuscany region, some days ago I think..... maybe November the 22nd; here the link: http://forum.meteonetwork.it/showthread.php?t=38851 Pictures also at page 2 of the topic Ciao
