what is quite clear the closest analog is proving to be 2013/14. The warmer T850 in January kicked in this year as well putting my doline location in strong inversion that gets colder and colder by day. For example Hungary -2 Scandinavia +7. The remarkably sparse snowfall this winter is very durable. this same way we managed cold january 2014. While in mountains is +10C.
