woke up this morning at 3.30am to get ready to go to East Midands for a flight to Northern Ireland, absolutley clear with nothing falling, just a slight frost on the car. As I drove from Grantham to Nottingham startd to snow and settle with a moderate accumulation. Got in to the airport around 6am, gt through to the gate, flight cancelled due to tecnical problem, then a few minutes later the runway was shut due to the snow. This little lot that was enough to shut the airport came down in about a half hour. Drove back out of the airport and the roads were white over. Then battled my way back to Grantham to work, took about 1.5 hours compared to the normal 50 minute journey, and that was with light traffic., the journey back looked a lot different to the journey to the airport. I am not overstating this, the roads are a lot worse than they were Monday, all this has dropped on to cold ground, the roads are compacted snow now. Still coming down steadily, not quite as hard.
