GSP Why Cologne??... That's Ryanair for you!!
Not very windy at all here in central southern England. London airports, Birmingham, Southampton and Bournemouth would surely have been better options.
Cold frosty morning with clear blue sky.
-7c here in Bramley, Hampshire !!....thought my weather station might be telling porkies so checked out official reading from nearby RAF Odiham ...sure enough -7c with a dew point of -8c at 7.50 this morning.
Hampshire Hillbilly I was up your way again today ...Mum had dishwasher problems.....so I took the opportunity to take my faithful hound for a late afternoon walk in Chawton Park Woods. As you say always significantly more snow up here than lower areas. A beautiful part of Hampshire.
chillyblast Unsuprisingly its snowing up in Princetown, 435m.
I wonder where the transition to snow is?

Planning to visit my elderly mum down at Four Marks (Near Alton, Hampshire) later today, check that she's ok with the cold weather, and take my dog for a late afternoon walk.... At 220m asl and a bit further south than me I'm hoping to see a few flakes!
Summertime Sadness Winters aren't the same these days! I lived on Tangier Rd, next to the pond in the late70s/ early 80s. Walked along a snowdrift covering the hedge beside Tangier Rd on my way to Great Salterns school (now a 6th form college?) then came home to see a "nutter" driving his car out over the ice out to the island in the middle of the pond. Can't remember but probably the same year that I managed to ski on Portsdown and Butser hills.
stainesbloke I wonder why we've got the accolade as the second most miserable nation on earth? At least Swamprow/Heathrow promises the opportunity to flee to sunnier climes!
@jtay
Couldn't agree more!! The devils work ....wellies, gumboots or whatever you want to call them.
My dog walks during the mild damp mudfest are undertaken in stout walking boots even if that makes navigation through flooded fields challenging. Roll on a winter freeze and frozen ground or a warm dry spring. Muddy dogs are tiresome!!
Looks like it might get some. My eldest is currently at Britannia RNC, Dartmouth - I expect a snowfall will make his early morning runs even more enjoyable than usual!
Hope you have a good snowy break down there.....I always like the Ferry boat Inn for a beer or two, in nearby Dittisham.
