  1. This almost sounds like a ramp Steve. I enjoy reading your posts a lot. I am a newbie but can see there is a NH hemisphere pattern change developing and tonight's ECM looks very bullish. The Artic high currently modelled and the MJO forecasts are obviously a good thing but are you confident of seeing a proper UK cold spell soon?
  2. SS, you have given me hope again. ECM looking encouraging.
  3. at 216 we have, an artic high, Scandi high, heights in the Atlantic and I think -8 850's over parts of UK! Canadian vortex still looks evil though. Sorry, can't post charts.
  4. Just for the sake of variety SS, could you please discuss something other than High pressure and European temperature averages. Perhaps a more lateral view of what the models are showing!
  5. Morning, For snow depth cup. measured 15cm this morning. Doesn't look like anything of note to come this week so we should enjoy what we have. Probable breakdown this weekend but hoping the next cold spell isn't too far away. Go to the in depth model discussion thread and read GP's post last night. Fingers crossed.
  6. Have just got back from long walk with dog at High Elms. Nothing better than a walk through the woods on untouched snow. Stopped snowing here now. Measuring 8cm on table in back garden, hoped for a tad more but still happy with this. Probably a couple of goals to find on my opponent though I would think.
  7. Still got 25 - 50p flakes coming down moderately fast here. Sorry for you guys in East Kent/Essesx, hopefully you'll have your revenge on Sunday!
  8. Nearly 5cm now and going by the radar and the intensifying blob, could well be 10cm + by early evening I reckon.
  9. Just got back and can report modertate top heavy snow past half hour, 20p + size flakes - excellent.
  10. Size of flakes increased the last few minutes, more like 5p sized flakes now. I hope it will continue to get heavier...c'mon.
  11. Getting better, small flakes but it's pepping up now, wind has picked up and it feels bitter.
  12. From 30th Nov 2010, I had 3 days of pretty much non stop snow in my location nr Biggin Hill. At times it was heavy but mostly just light to moderate. The accumulations in the back garden measured 18 inches. BUT this event came from the East I think and a Thames Streamer was involved I believe so I'm not sure if we can get the same amount from the West. Perhaps some of the more experienced posters can confirm this.
  13. As a couple of people have just said, GP has just posted a major ramp/warning on the MOD thread, in respect of sustained prolonged severe cold over the next few weeks. I have never seen him so bullish. Anyway to the short term and fingers crossed, looking good for Friday/Saturday.
  14. Rain desperately trying to turn into to snow now - Farnborough Village/Biggin Hill.
  15. Rain Rain bloomin' rain, Bad timing with band of PPN hitting the warmer sector. Wished the PPN had been delayed for a few hours.
  16. Maybe a bit marhinal for me here, sounds like south Essex/Kent border is in the firing line at the moment.
