  1. I think that may be because in Britain we are not too far from mainland Europe, who are one hour ahead. What i'm saying is, we are just on the "one side of the boundary" between GMT/BST and CET/CEST if that makes sense, so I think its natural to debate if we are better off on the other side i.e one hour forward. Personally i'm in favour of moving our clocks forward an hour, I guess I just like the thought of it still beign daylight at 10pm during June and July!
  2. My location: Sunrise is 05:55 BST Sunset is 20:04 BST with civil twilight lasting untill untill 20:40. Sunset is now exactly one hour and fourteen minutes earlier compared to the lightest evening, which was now two months ago. Sobering really.
  3. It has been attempting to rain for the last 25/30 minutes, but so far not a great detail. It is needed in my location, the grass has gone very brown.
  4. Had a heavy spell of snow for the past hour here in mid-Kent, was particulary heavy or 45 minutes but has eased of slightly in the past 15 minutes.
  5. I have measured 14cm which is just under six inches. I think im going to go outside in a minute and clear the drive!
  6. That is only half of what I have measured! Do you live right in the town?
  7. I've just been in my garden and measured the snow on a hard surface (the patio) and have got 14cm!! Thats just under six inches here in Maidstone. Is anyone else nearby reporting those values?
  8. Not sure how much east Kent is expecting, here in mid-kent the best I can hope for is maybe getting a few scraps off the main event! I would be happy with 5cm
  9. Cold and foggy start here in east Kent, brightening up during the afternoon, however over the last hour it has clouded up with brief spells of rain. Temperatures at 7c (45f) with the sun setting at 15:48 GMT.
  10. I am going to bring a hairdryer to south Norfod and melt all your snow out of pure spite and jealousy!!!
  11. Well what an anti-climax today was! It did snow and threaten to settle a little bit during late morning, but by the time the clock ticked past 12:00 the snow soon turned to sleet and then by 16:00 it turned to rain. Were we not supposed to get a good few hours of the white stuff?! I prefer not to think what might have been had all that sleet and rain today decided to be snow! Ah well never mind, the nasty rain will live to regret melting the snow into slush, when it all freezes over tonight! mwahahaha!!!
  12. Hey thanks for that, I remember to watch out nearer the time then. I've never lived so near to the coast in my lifetime (6 miles) so I am getting paranoid that this is all going to turn to sleet and rain later on!
  13. So whens the band going to move northwards and reach here then? All i'm getting is pathetic snow flurries at the moment! Edit: Turning a bit heavier now. Reverse psychology, I love it!
  14. Periods of heavy snow yesterday has led to accumilations, however the snow turned a bit sleety during the night and this led to a very slight thaw by the morning. Very light snow flurries have emerged now, here in East Kent

  20. Storming here now. Rain started around 22:30 and has persisted since then, lightening and thunder started to emerge about roughly half an hour ago. Some quite bright blue flashes as well! Rumbling pretty quiet, not enough to make me jump, or at least not yet!
