  1. Could you possibly change the title now to something like Spring has sprung or not as the case may be? Or something similar?
  2. Lukesluckybunch No! Not good to see! Lol It is now March and we desperately need warmer, sunnier and drier weather!
  3. North Cornwall exposed to the Westerly wind. Maybe more sheltered here from South Westelies and Westelies.
  4. Seriously not sure why St Austell in Cornwall is under an Amber Warning . Just an ordinary windy night here. No notable gusts here at all. Maybe touching 50mph every once in awhile. Very disappointing. I was looking forward to a stormy night to be honest. I know it's bad elsewhere but big let down for my location Very hyped up in my opinion. We have had way worse than this before!
  5. I don't understand. 2 days go many sites were saying 70mph gusts here and then yesterday morning 65mph gusts and then it's got lower and lower. Met Office and Netweather has us barely in the 50mph gusts category which is normal for a windy day in the winter down here and certainly not enough for an Amber Warning. So confused and a little disappointed as I was really looking forward to a good blow!
  6. Hardly! Those gusts are in kph not mph. 1987 storm had much higher gusts.
  7. It does say wind gusts and not mean winds otherwise the South West would be wiped off the map!! LOL
  8. Weakening already?! Are you sure? I'm sure it's not meant to be at its lowest pressure until it's over central southern England
  9. All gone calm here in St Austell Cornwall. Had 4 hours of heavy rain and very gusty winds with at least 2 hrs plus of gusts to 60mph at least and from a south to south easterly direction felt very exposed and again very unusual to have winds that strong from that direction. Lots of debris and small branches off trees and surface water flooding. Pressure dropping quickly. Currently 970mb. Now just wait to see if we actually get these extreme gusts of wind that has been forecast in the early hours!
  10. I'm in St Austell also. One model says gusts to nothing more than 30mph and other models say 80mph!! Crazy at this short time frame!!!!
  11. I think the amber warnings will be dropped tomorrow and the yellow warnings will be scrapping the south coast. Maybe keep a yellow warning for the rain but that's it. I'm secretly disappointed here in Cornwall as was getting excited about it all. CI and Northern France now in the firing line. Signing off until the next storm that disappoints
  12. Usually always the case with these potent storms. Trends further and further south. Alot of rain still I'm sure but looks like ending up a normal autumnal windy day apart from the CI and Northern France getting the worst of it.
  13. The UK might miss out on these storms altogether then these potent storms for the most part trend more south as the day approaches. I was looking forward to seeing some high winds and high seas to be honest as I live in Cornwall. However I don't wish loss of life or too much damage of course!
