    Still find the way wednesday's low is modelled a little strange. It starts barreling towards the nederlands and then suddendly flattens out as if to squeeze through the channel like it's a pipe. Still think it will correct further north

    Snowing steadily in Staines now, beginning to settle on cars, presumably as lower temps. Hoping for a thames streamer

    I'm about to ask the most noob question ever on here, apologies in advance. Re. a possible Thames streamer event on the 8th- does the Thames being in serious flood affect snowfall totals? I live in Staines and the river is over the roads in many places, it's incredible to see. Nearby Chertsey is getting flooded again. Just wondered if it would affect the streamer at all.

    When I was a kid there was a pub that my dad took us to a lot that had a sign above the bar that read 'FREE BEER TOMORROW'. As a 5 year old I didn't get it, but my dad explained it to me. If this forum was a pub sign it would read 'SNOW AT DAY 10'

    I've not only told my wife, but shown her the direct comparison between '63 and next week. Sorry everyone. Long time lurker, love the forum, keep it up everyone, you make my days as a dad of 2 little girls a lot easier especially at winter time.     That HIRLAM chart has way less rain coming through from the west than what's actually falling right now.

    Question from a newbie: If the Greenland high gets itself together and forms a decent block, does that help the cold become entrenched over us? And therefore less likely for it all to go pear-shaped?
