    Monkseaton (North East Coast Near Newcastle) Heavy snow showers from 5am today, 2inch+ on ground but slow thaw in between showers, plenty more showers out to sea.

    Woke up to about an inch of snow this am, had 3 or 4 heavy snow showers, but sunny interludes means a rapid thawing. Hailstones at the moment, plenty of shower activity out to sea, requiring just a subtle wind change to bring them all inland .
