  1. Snow overnight for Dartmoor, Exmoor and Welsh Mountains with a bit down to lower levels. Tuck of cold air from the northern Atlantic , with low "Nelson" named by AEMET Spanish Met Service.
  2. The UK climate demands a lot of our road surfaces: it becomes increasingly hot in summer and floods in winter. Even without a hard cold winter, the rain has added to pothole problems. Read more here
  3. No, but I work from home, so have more flexibility. The campaign was about letting people know it was possible, not to write off all the winter months and forget about drying outside. It won't fit everyone but it is still an open topic for discussion.
  4. Love your laundry | Brabantia WWW.BRABANTIA.COM The campaign launched yesterday
  5. Netweather and Jo Farrow have assisted with Brabantia's Love your Laundry campaign to encourage people to dry their laundry outside all year round. It is possible. Read more here
  6. Don't believe everything you read or hear. It will turn colder for the end of this week but it's showery so a look at where might see a bit of snow. Read more here
  7. MidlandsWeatherWatcher There are the Travel world cities forecasts barcelona, SPAIN Weather Forecast - Worldwide Weather - Netweather.tv WWW.NETWEATHER.TV Weather forecast for barcelona, SPAIN. Detailed forecast for the next 7 days. Updated four times a day to keep you totally up to date. and AEMET is the national agency for spain, for any warnings. This weekend looks wet and windy for Spain frmo the NW due to the same low that affects the UK but there seems to be some improvement next week, at least initially
  8. It's a very generational thing. I was excited to see the Aurora but also the snow, mountains, wildlife, scenery and Tromso ,even how the snow was cleared in a different country. One of my teens said "so you did see the Aurora, you can tick that off?" At the airport, there were definitely some folk who had bought a showy Arctic outfit with fur edging and were all about getting the pose of themselves in front of the Aurora. Which is fine and may enliven the shared aurora pics but what happens when the lights don't show that evening? Big disappointment? I was enchanted by life in the Arctic, I've read and watched as much as I can access since returning. I'd looked at the railway journeys, didn't fit with my trip but your photos look wonderful @TillyS
  9. Reflections on my recent visit to the Arctic Circle on a Weather Holidays trip (part of Netweather). Thanks to @ArcticBrit and Paul and Daniel. The best way to see Northern Lights in Norway WWW.NETWEATHER.TV Seeing the Aurora in the Arctic Circle has become a bucket list activity. What does a Weather Holidays chase tour in Norway involve, by day and night?

  11. By Friday morning, the low centre of Louis had moved towards the Alps and a new centre deepened across the NOrth Sea and was named ROLF by the Danish Met, with amber warnings for wind. Red rain warning for northern Italy from remnants of Louis, with snow, wind and other rain warnings. Wind warnings for southern Scandinavia too from ROLF
  12. Storm ROLF for Denmark (Northern naming group) which developed across the North Sea overnight, as Storm Louis (Southwestern naming group) hit France and the Netherlands yesterday. (Red warning for rain in northern Italy for that today) 'Storm Rolf hits the west coast of Jutland Storm Rolf lies over the north-eastern part of the North Sea and continues north-eastwards at high speed towards Oslo.' 'Storm warning with hurricane force gusts The storm is called: Rolf. DMI Warning for a storm with wind gusts of hurricane force along the west coast of Jutland and the Skagerrak coast. As well as DMI warning gale force winds with wind gusts of strong storm force or hurricane force.' Danish Met Institute Yellow flood , high tide and strong winds/gust warnings for Oslo
  13. The French called Thursday's low Louis, which the Netherlands acknowledged when they had orange warnings. That low centre looks to have headed to the Alps but another low developed across the North Sea and we have ROLF for Denmark . Storm Rolf, part of the Northern naming group
