  1. I had to reupload my video of monday/tuesdays storm because I found a CG in the raw video that I somehow overlooked while editing... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rghgypGSkDE
  2. I got a nice thunderstorm last night near Newcastle in County Down. The larger strike was a positive CG, the base of the bolt even took on a smooth appearance, and the shockwave was powerful to shake the car even at a distance of 3 miles! I uploaded a video of the storm too, right here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQtZi2ifZKg Hopefully today will deliver the goods as well!
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1FuivYZ1Ww Video of some thunder from today in Co. Armagh I saw a few big CG's before this video was taken, but sadly they weren't captured
  4. I see what looks like some Altocumulus castellanus amongst the mid level cloud, feeling quite humid as well
  5. GFS is saying there will be a lot of convective precip in my location tomorrow, but the NMM shows nothing... Which one is more trustworthy?
  6. I hope that trough will trigger a few thunderstorms for NI... MLCAPE values seem very high on the NMM12 where I am, but I am a bit skeptical of that
  7. There was a sferic north of Aberdeen on blitzortung not too long ago
  8. Maybe, but NI is getting nothing as far as I can see, sad times
  9. Hoping for a shift to take the plume back to NI... But I'm sure that won't happen at this range
  10. 18z not looking as nice as the runs before it, hopefully it will improve tomorrow :/
  11. Still nothing but distant flashes of winter lightning this year. Hopefully the plume will do something good, and if not then maybe I'll see something when I'm up in Poland...
  12. I know it's still subject to change, but I couldn't help but notice the DLS values over Northern Ireland, where I am, and decent enough MLCAPE on the medium range NMM seems like a good sign that its modelling a lot of convective rain Elevated supercell potential? Or better still, MCS event? I guess I can only dream at this relatively far (by tstorm standards) range... 4 days to go, let's hope the plume doesn't shift east again
  13. Thanks! Being honest, I expected nothing more than a few offshore flashes, not a storm like this!
  14. I couldn't share this earlier because the lightning blew out my internet and it wasn't fixed all week, but we got a pretty nasty thunderstorm here on Monday the 6th... Here's some distant lightning... A considerably closer strike... And a strike so close that I actually felt the shock in my leg (Here I am attempting to place the coat over the camera again as a makeshift rain cover) Unfortunately raindrops on the lens messed with the focus of some strikes. The storm also produced a lot of hail, so deep that the land around me was just completely white, these photos don't really do it justice Here's the video of the storm, the thunder sounds great especially with headphones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zfx1IfMhZ9Q
  15. Thanks! Yeah, I don't see much point in smothering the sounds of the storms with music, unless it's a compilation of non stop lightning strikes, especially at night
  16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdSe1NVax60 Here's the video of the lightning storm on the 9th, there's some pretty nice lightning bolts and loud thunder
  17. Here's some lightning from earlier, will be uploading a video when I can
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi0PJW6Ui38 Another video of a storm here from the 6th of August
