  1. Turns out this hot spell coming up will be nothing out of the ordinary at least down here. No silly high temperatures like last time. And for you lucky folk up north it's going to be brief. Always the risk down here it'll return.
  2. Well at least the June record from 1976 looks like it will remain intact. Imagine the sheer excitement amongst the Heat Lovers if the record had been broken. Hope I haven't spoke to soon. I have often wondered,do the Heat Lovers on the other threads actually ever leave their a/c homes, offices, cars etc and actually physically experience this ridiculous nonsense heat.
  3. Another perfectly manageable day in this so called heatwave. 22c and cloudy. Lovely. It's a shame the forecasters are getting caught up in the Daily Express type drama.
  4. The only time we seem to get t-storms now in summer is during periods of unstable west/northwest setups. Evening time after surface heating/convection. Been a long time since that happened too. Anyway,on with the endless heat and dryness.
  5. SunnyG Forecasts?? They don't even know what day of the week it is for goodness sake.
  6. Seriously!!! London at 2.30 is the hottest place in Europe.
  7. dryfie They love the expression 'Tropical Night'. It heightens the drama.
  8. Djdazzle Yup. Record breaking 38.5 c in Brogdale Kent on 10th or maybe 11th August 2003.
  9. It's like in winter. The models promise a cold spell with snow and then two days out it all disappears. This time the much promised long lasting heatwave turns into a one or two day wonder. That's the weather on these islands folks.
  10. Certainly a welcome downgrade on the temperatures down here over the coming weekend. Perfectly manageable ......if it turns out like this. Fingers crossed.
  11. Next weekend looking poor now according to the Met Office.
  12. Decided I'm going to risk it and head out..... now that the risk of getting struck by lightning or hit by 'large hail' didn't materialise as per met office WARNING.
  13. Not the blazing bank holiday many wanted. Moody skies over South London.
  14. Definitely a much much wetter period coming up. Exeter reckons will last well into June by their long range forecast.
