I just want some warm sunshine but I’d settle for a week of snow as well

The car dealer I collected my car from today had no electric or internet which was a pity because I wanted to put part of deposit on a credit card to help the sting and some protection. No card machine meant the wages took a smashing instead I did feel sorry for his wife she was in a dry robe and hat when she answered the door. There’s still plenty of houses in Limavady without electric. There’s at least 3 or 4 lines I could see down on Friday. I didn’t see any fibre lines down but they’re so easily damaged anyway. We got off light with only loosing power a few minutes but our supply is underground from a substation I can see that regularly sits in water loads of trees down everywhere and plenty been left leaning. There’s also a tree I’ve been watching for nearly 10 years. Every winter it leans over north but then it grows towards the south and is almost straight again by autumn. I’ve been expecting it to fall every winter but it hangs on

i just went outside and it’s snowing wasn’t quite ready to see that

I was out trying to repair the garden and noticed a few of my edge tiles have lifted a little but are still attached. didn’t do a good job on the gate it’s only filling the gap. I’ll have to use the front door and walk round to the car.

Gate is broken so is a neighbours fence and another neighbour had lost their built up sun seat.

Still have power I’m limavady some very rough wind My boss is in work and is expecting those who are scheduled in even though the foyle bridge is closed to all traffic. You think that might be a hint.

Can’t see anything on the traffic cams on the glenshane or coleraine mtn cameras but that might be because the lenses are covered in snow or maybe rain

matty40s my parents are literally on the coast but they’re just at the mouth of Belfast lough at groomsport so the shouldn’t have to worry about the wind piling the water against them At high tide they’re only a metre or 2 over sea level the coast path is as high as the seas come so far they’ll be fine with a southerly wind. You could throw a stone from their deck and put it in the sea

I can hear some wind too but can’t see the trees moving when I look out.

Does anyone know what kind of storm surge we can expect with this low.

I was at the shop too for baby food as I had none left for tomorrow and it was crazy. I think I got one of the last loaves. The tin aisle was very bare too all the Tesco own brand beans were gone

I can’t believe how many people are being so flippant about this storm. I keep seeing comments like how the world has changed this used to be called winter and ask sure it’s only wind. I keep saying this has potential to be a once in a lifetime time record breaking event.

I think I threw out my old camping kettle I should have a camping stove somewhere but I haven’t seen it for absolutely years
