  1. Dunno what Doris will bring but it's just hit 60mph here which is VERY high for my station
  2. Wind just picked up here (suddenly gusting to 35 mph) and temp rising.
  3. Looking very serious in the Calder Valley. River Calder level at Sowerby Bridge
  4. Wind starting to ramp up again in a flooded Swaledale @58mph. Main road through the dale still underwater in a few places.
  5. Not Lake District MR Wensleydale and Swaledale are Yorkshire dales.. SWALEDALE FLOODS. Road flooded to a depth of 10" twixt Grinton & Fremington. Passable with care. Scabba Wath past Healaugh impassable.
  6. Wild morning here. Gusting over 60mph. The River Swale has burst its banks at Grinton and my rain gauge is broken
  7. Gusts just shot up to 45mph here with bp falling rapidly. Still dry tho.
  8. Strangely quiet here. 1/2" rain in last 12 hrs, wind e/se and light???? 6.7deg C BUT pressure falling rapidly!
  9. Presume it's the area around the 'crease' which will bring the rain?

  13. Just started to rain here. Flat grey skies bur eerily quiet.
  14. Wet snow coming down at 45 degrees on a strong easterly, laying at 250 m.......staying in bed!
  15. Temp in Swaledale still rising... Currently 6.2 But a lot clearer after earlier hail.
  16. Ramping up in N Pennines now. Just have 5min very intense sleet and hail storm....can't remember seeing one of those before. 55mph gusts.

Don't know if this is directly linked to the 'storm' but today in Swaledale (North Pennines) we have had monsoon style rain, but lasting for only a minute or two, coupled with gusty strong winds. Nowt unusual in the wind but not had so many short intense bursts of rain in the 20 odd yrs we have been here. Any connection to the up and coming?
  18. Anyone got any precipitation forecasts for tomorrow for the (already sodden) Northern Pennines?
