Neil Harris I think the snow was as deep as 2013, bur 2013 definitely stuck around longer! I was working as a domiciliary carer at the time and was cycling from house to house, I can remember having a few hairy moments nearly coming off my bike because of the snow and ice, that seemed to stick around for weeks

Don The chances are getting slimmer as we go through Feb and into March, but I honestly think some of our best snowfalls more recently have been at the end of Feb and start of March. Had around 10cm here at the beginning of last March, and who could forget that beast from the East in March 2018? That was an incredible event. I lived in Northampton at the time and we had a good 10-15cm there that stuck around for a good 4-5 days. Edit: Just found the chart for March 1st 2018, incredible looking chart!

Been a lot of rain here today. 20mm+ at some measuring stations around Leicester. River levels are also high so I think flooding is going to be a problem again. Just a case of what might have been here today. If all of this had been snow, i'd be looking at the deepest snowfall i've ever seen in my lifetime here Oh well, not lost hope for late Feb or early March snowfall. Might not stick around for long but i'd like to see some settling snow before Winter is out.

sheikhy The GFS had this nailed down on Monday when the UKMO was going against it. Now the other models have backtracked to what the GFS was originallly showing then. Edit: Well, the UKV looks good but I don't buy it. I guess I can't write it off until tomorrow comes, but i'm not getting my hopes up.

MattStoke I wish we were in Yorkshire for this event, to be honest They're going to do very well from this. I'll have to make sure i'm up early tomorrow to catch whatever snow may be falling before it turns to rain. I've got 4 days off work now, so would have loved a good snow event to enjoy it even more, but not to be by the looks of things.

sheikhy There's always March! We had a decent snowfall last March, can't remember the exact date, around the 8th or 9th, I think? It was just after my Birthday and I can remember waking up to around 8-10cm of it. It was washed away by the evening, but was nice to see. The only problem with March snowfall is the higher temps and strength of the sun, but it's the best we can hope for now. The rest of Feb looks very mild. Raging Southerlies for the next 2 weeks!
