  1. We really could do with some dry and windy weather to dry up the surfaces a bit. No point getting snow when it’s so wet everywhere. Even though we’ve not had much rain the last few days, it’s been overcast and stagnant which hasn’t helped
  2. Having some comms with the MO for work, they are pretty nailed on a very unsettled and wet mid/late December. Seems to be starting to show on the models
  3. A Heat Shield for the Most Important Ice on Earth | The New Yorker WWW.NEWYORKER.COM Engineers might be able to protect Arctic ice by coating it with tiny glass bubbles. Should they?
  4. That makes more sense, thought it sounded too good to be true. Thanks for the explanation
  5. Just reading in the refreeze thread that Antarctic ice is at its highest for 50 years at this time of year. Is this down to an extensive period of favourable weather conditions or are there other factors helping?
  6. The US has set many cold records in last few years, it’s Europe which seems to be setting the warm ones more regularly
  7. Pocklington does seem to have been a sweet spot both last night and this afternoon. Your showers passing just south of here
