I live in the DFW metroplex, and I'm in need of a decent little weather station to put in my greenhouse. Nothing fancy. It only needs an accurate temperature gauge and good range (100' through brick and double-ply plastic siding). Currently, we use a Davis Vantage Vue for external readings, and I couldn't be more pleased with this model. However, when it comes to the greenhouse, we've had trouble with the range of our Ambient Weather Station (WS-1171A). It advertises a 300' range for clear line of sight and 100' range for most applications. That said, it will not pick up a signal at 80' through a single brick wall and the siding of our greenhouse. Any advice would be appreciated.
