  1. Backtrack asking about Llangollen Here's Chirk....
  2. Very elevated, barely any rain. Passing to our West towards the Llandegla moors. Moving fast as well, more flashes to the South East so maybe some more action soon.
  3. Can confirm, thunder in Chirk, main storm looks slightly West of here.
  4. Ironically, here in the Wrexham area it has been raining for around 6 hours, torrential for the last 3 hours, with a fair rivulet running down our hill which may well flood houses further down, yet we are not even in any of the warning areas, despite clear radar indication that we would get a fair share of downpours. Maybe it's because of the lack of thunder activity, either expected or received (we never usually do anyway, one thunderstorm in 4 years)? Still warranted a warning!
  5. Well over a foot ( one sheltered point in the back where it stuck first is 15 inches) here in Chirk, and still it falls. Worryingly the lights keep flickering, so looks like we may lose power soon. In addition one or two large conifers are making some evil noises, a couple of branches have already snapped off with the weight, but one tree in particular is worrying us, and it's big...
  6. Rather a lot in Chirk, close on a foot on the front garden.
  7. To answer Carl, yes very bad around Oswestry. Large hail and also frequent lightning. Here in Chirk it's a coming.......!!
  8. Here in Chirk at 130m currently rain with maybe a sleety flake or two. Temperature is 2c, not sure about dewpoint but Shawbury and Hawarden both show 1c? Virtually no wind here either.
  9. Oh, and Blackpool now reporting gusts to 51mph.....
  10. No on a S westerly the wind follows the contours of the Ceiriog and the Dee valleys, giving North Shropshire a good blow before heading toward Ellesmere... Capel Curig is a good 70 miles West.
  11. Capel Curig now 82mph, Lake Vyrnwy 67mph, and Aberdaron 72mph. I have family near Lake Vyrnwy too.
  12. Ever seen a sheep blown over? No neither have I, but I'm watching...... Wait your turn Blackpool, I thought the same a couple of hours ago!! LOL
  13. 75mph at Capel Curig, 66mph at Lake Vyrnwy, stormy here in Chirk. Looks like North Wales gets first knock at the door!!
  14. Seems to have died out here as quickly as it appeared, maybe a dozen visible distant flashes, now can see the stars again. Oh well that's another storm to miss us, none at all overhead this year!!! Manchester routed airplanes now flying over us as well, but just noticed another faint flash to the East of us, maybe Crewe next?
