  1. I doubt it. It works the other way when you have an E/NE flow, they die as they try to cross over the Pennines. Seen it so many times.
  2. I agree, but I think we will see the heavy snow showers moving in by 10pm tonight.
  3. Should be really interesting this time tomorrow night!! Fingers crossed!
  4. With the NW/N flow I can't see many showers making it over the Pennines throughout Wednesday evening & in to the early hours of Thursday.
  5. I think in this set up for late Wednesday afternoon & overnight in to Thursday will bring a lot of heavy snow showers to a lot of the region perhaps merging together to give longer heavier periods of snow throughout the night just like December 2010 on the night of the 17/18th. But that's just my opinion. EDIT: The amber warning for heavy snow that night was only issued at 5pm Friday evening only 3 hours before the snow event began. Just worth keeping in mind.
  6. This has just been posted in the MOD thread, can't get more of an IMBY post than that! Laughable! "If we could just get a more north east feed rather than a n/nw shown in the models everyone would be in for the fun!"
  7. Simple answer they just aren't sure. Still a good week of cold & potentially snowy weather for many for sure.
  8. Please feel free to follow my Facebook Weather page, would be much appreciated. https://www.facebook.com/WinterInTheUk2013?ref=aymt_homepage_panel
  9. Stay in here pal & you'll be fine. Cheers.
  10. Could you please stick to your regional thread and leave us in the North West to discuss in ours? Thank you in advance.
  11. Nice mild sector there for the South East! lol
  12. Indeed, the North West is certain;y the "sweet spot" for Wednesday night/Thursday.
  13. Why is it when they issue warnings in any other part of the Country they are on the money, when we have warnings issued they go tits up?
  14. I really think people are jumping the gun here & being quite frankly hysterical, precip is pivoting & will affect the region over night, I expect quite a wide area to have a covering by morning.
  15. Precipitation pivoting and due to head back south after midnight.
