Thought i must have Time-travelled this morning, 2degC out, slight frost on grass and a weather f/cast mentioning a Polar Low and heavy snow for some places...!! but then i looked at the Scotland thread...nice...shame this weather pattern didn't come 3 months ago...not good for the Swallows, butterflies and bees that were flying around y/day...
Bloody cold last coulpe of days, horrendous squally winds this afternoon with rain, hail, and even some wet snow thrown in for good measure...why didn't this weather come in Dec/Jan...calmer now but turning chilly, currently 3deg C...!!
Just typical that we waited all winter for a Scandi High...and we get one in mid March...!! wish i was in that Italian village that had 8ft...yes 8ft of snow in 24hrs....
Surprisingly had some brief snow showers here on east coast earlier today, temp now down to feezing...hoping for some ppn overnight but charts not looking promising...
Some of the photos from Boston area are amazing...i've been there in the summer...prefer to be there now
As you say, we may get some interesting weather in a few days time, shame it won't be on the same scale...imagine this country under 6ft of snow...wouldn't survive...
I checked the US news last night and couldn't believe that Boston is having more snow, they've had 6ft...!! since the start of the month, it's thier snowiest February on record...and we're only half way through the month...!! in the good old days when the Jet-stream behaved itself we used to get similar weather to the US a couple of weeks later...not any more...
Just logged on to see if anything interesting..ie colder...might be happening soon but according to the MOD thread it aint...ah well, least i had one day of snow this winter...which was one more than last winter.
Strange how when i was out for a walk on the Nth bank of the River Humber yesterday that there was a chilly wind coming from due South...no sign of any real cold weather returning i guess...
Think it'll be a bit quiet in here for a few days, hopefully winter's not done yet...just been looking at the record snowfall in Hokaido, Japan...6ft...!! wish the weather in the northern hemisphere went east to west then we'd get similar conditions every winter...
Typical...last night we had heavy ppn all night from a milder Nly flow...tonight there's a colder Ely flow and all the ppn looks like it'll be south of us...guys in SE may get lucky...
