  1. 1st day in a while that, the ice has actually melted from my car. Was -4 earlier, a mild spell will be greatly appreciated. My boiler packed up last Monday (sensor) so only had a tiny little fan heater.... my cats loved it, me and my other no so much. Heating was back working Friday lunchtime, thank goodness.
  2. I'm so happy with the snow fall. Keep looking out the window like an excited child. There have been so many times, we've had the promise and nothing comes of it. I'm hoping that it sticks around for a bit.
  3. Not really sure what to post. There's a lot of negative posts on here already! We are in an area that could go either way, I'm just happy to see more seasonal Weather. It's lovely to experience seasonal frosts and live very close to London. I've not. been able to venture into the local ancient forest land to experience the frost locally and feel I have lost out. If the frost has is as reliable as it is on my car, ice was very close to zero when I went out at mid day and driving about went up by 2 degrees wherever I went!
  4. Still not turned my heating on. It's a bit chilly, but once you put a throw over yourself it's fine. It's not like I can see my breath in the air, I would give in then......
  5. I've not ventured to Plumstead Common, I tend to gravitate around Lesnes Abbey Woods. I'm looking forward to the Spring, the smell of the beautiful Bluebell's is intoxicating. There's also a lot of wildlife, only two weeks ago, I had a Hawk right outside my flat - doing what Hawk's do!
  6. Take heart, at least it will be a cheap Christmas with regards to heating........ Plus, if you're into photography, you'll get some amazing pictures of water droplets!
  7. Same here in Upper Belvedere. Fingers crossed that it intensifies.
  8. Gone sleety here now. Was lovely to see the snow flakes though whilst they lasted .
  9. Lightly snowing in Upper Belvedere and also settling. Hoping we get few cm's, so I can go out for a walk in it with my camera.
  10. Even though we weren't lucky enough to get some snow, been a great distraction from all the other stuff going on. Silver linings eh.......
  11. Have been in this same situation many times. I'll be more than happy for a smattering of snow, some frost, but not rain!
  12. I've been a member for a very long time and in recent years a lurker but this is my genuine thoughts as there will be many people experiencing 'firsts' that they would never have expected nor entertained this Christmas Eve. We have 'all' been through a really tough year one way or another, some have truly experienced the tragic and sad, I give you a virtual hug, we're not allowed to do anything more... I wish you all a safe and happy Christmas, and we can all only wish for a better new year.
  13. I don't think I've ever entered this time of year without having the need to put on the central heating! In some ways I find this quite shocking. I do miss some real seasonal cold, as we had a number of weeks ago now!
  14. Well there seems to be a bunch of happy campers on here! Dress for the weather, don't go wishing your lives away. If we get something we want, as in 'snow' it's a bonus. If the sun's out, lovely. If it rains, then look for the positive in the rain (appropriately dressed of course) but, by all means go out, be happy, enjoy what we have.
  15. I think, they probably post the articles on the first Monday after the schools go back. Well that's what it feels like anyway.
  16. Well, that was a fantastic light show earlier this morning, I think it was about 4/5 am ish, I didn't look at the clock, only knew it was around that time as my hubby was getting ready to go to work. I don't remember (apart from when it happened last year) so many flashes of lighting so close together......... It may have done, I might have forgotten... Now it's been raining and thundery, one of my cats sprang off the sofa to find a hiding hole earlier, think she confused it with the sound of fireworks!
  17. Oooooooohhhh I'm a happy, happy bunny, loverly sssssnnnnnnnnooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww!
  18. Not back home long, there was definitely something coming out of the sky, and it wasn't polystyrene!!!!
  19. We haven't got any yet! My hubby thinks its hilarious, I keep going to look out the front door.
  20. Ha ha, after reading the ups and downs of the mad thread, where one minute it's game on and then a 180 degree reversal to doom and gloom, thought I'd post a picture of something that can be guaranteed. I love snow more than anything! Photo from last year in the village!
