  1. TwisterGirl81 I hope so. We are certainly long overdue some pleasantly warm sunny weather now. Be nice to do some more work in the gardens but it's difficult when it keeps raining. Much like this time last year, my gardens are overgrown. B87 There will be a hosepipe ban too.
  2. Don This is what is so frustrating about our climate. We get some good weather setups, but more often than not they are at the wrong times of the year. The warmth we had last autumn is what we should have had during that year's summer. The mild weather during the winter is what we should have had during the autumn. This current setup would have been great during the winter. It would be nice to have more years that actually feel seasonal. 2018 was a good year for seasonal weather.
  3. Looking at the the weather forecast, I will probably be wearing my winter coat for the foreseeable. It's taking a while to warm up this year it seems.
  4. raz.org.rain Yes, the rain will be warmer.
  5. It's turned out to be a lovely weekend with lots of sunshine. A nice surprise seeing as I thought we were in for a settled but cloudy weekend. Looks like the MO got it wrong again.
  6. I am going for a washout June this year, with the summer improving as the season goes on. So August will be the best month for summery and useable weather, with the hottest day of the year recorded at Heathrow early in the month.
  7. I thought this weekend was supposed to be settled but cloudy. But it has actually turned out settled and sunny with just a few small wispy clouds here and there. The Met Office got it wrong yet again.
  8. Don By that point we would have had our first 20 Celsius Christmas day. 20 Celsius days in February would be commonplace as well as 30 Celsius in April. 40 Celsius during summer would have also become commonplace. Snow during winter would be completely unheard of.
  9. Feels nice and pleasant now that the sun is out. If we can't have any warmth yet, then at least let us have some sun.
  10. Both were stunning Mays, but I will go for 2018 but only because it was such a relief after a disappointing first half of spring that year. I also felt like May 2020 was a bit of a kick in the teeth as it coincided with the lockdown.
  11. *Stormforce~beka* Hopefully it will warm up very soon.
  12. Thinking back to the 2010s, what would you say was your favourite season from each of those years? Here's mine from what I can remember: 2010 - Winter (both sides of the year) - Both January and December that year were classic winter months. 2011 - Spring - Dry and sunny for much of the time with chilly nights in March followed by a warm April and a pleasant May. 2012 - Winter (2011/12) - There was a cold and snowy period in January. 2013 - Summer - A nice summer compared to the summers of the previous six years. 2014 - Summer - I recall July being a nice summer month that year. 2015 - Autumn - A seasonal September with alternating periods of warmth and coolness. A pleasant spell at the end of the month and in the first days of October. 2016 - Autumn - Not the most interesting of years so I went with autumn due to the memorable warm spell during mid September. 2017 - Winter (2017/18) - The beginning of a classic winter. 2018 - Summer - A classic summer with many warm or hot days without feeling overly humid. 2019 - Spring - Many nice days and warmth from mid April onwards.
  13. A fairly pleasant day so far over here with alternating periods of clouds and sun.
  14. I guess I am in a minority, though it doesn't mean that I want constant wind and rain. In autumn I like daytime temps to be around the seasonal average but with sunshine and chilly nights and just the odd storm here and there. I like warm weather but I equally like the cosiness of autumn and cold clear days and snow in winter. It would be nice for once to have a year that is actually seasonal. Seasonal weather is hard to come by these days.
  15. I would say that the latter would be more reliable, providing that you like your cuppa cold.
  16. raz.org.rain Kind of like a spring/summer 2018 redux. I have a feeling that is what will happen also. Just like with this year, I recall that we didn't have much of a spring that year and it more or less went straight from winter to summer from mid April onwards. A 2018 style summer would be most welcome for many of us.
  17. After a dull start, it is now mostly cloudy with some sunshine in spots. Turned out to be quite a pleasant afternoon.
  18. In Absence of True Seasons Lovely. I see that your trees are blooming very nicely. They seem to be taking a while over here.
  19. 'Twas the first 20°C day of the year yesterday for this neck of the woods. A pity it was cloudy.
