  1. Just nipped out to look around, and took my special snow measuring ruler(!). 1.2cm on the car roof. Very sticky snow, stuck to vertical surfaces well.
  2. I think the snow we have now is the band that will develop as it moves south, its' certainly different from the sleet/hail showers we had eariler which had started to die away before this snow arrived. Still going strong here, and oddly is on course to be the best accumulation of the, well, winter..
  3. Very large flakes indeed, we have a measurable depth of snow- about 1cm
  4. Band of showers arriving in cumbria is snow, it did rain about 1hr ago, but now snow and settling
  5. Drew or anyone on high gound in the cotswolds - whats going on at the moment- much new snow? - I'm away from home due to return at 5 to birdlip, but in London now where it is dull
  6. Excellent snow, quite a breeze drifting the snow to a couple of feet in places, first time I've seen that for a number of years, still snowing well now, so places NEE of glos look get at least a few more hours yet. About 4'' of level snow atm
  7. Just noticed this thread, I thought I'd add a note. This, or a part of this storm came through here (6 miles south of gloucester) at something like 2.45 in the afternoon, fairly normal apart from there was a hell of a gust at the back of the storm which blew out a couple of fence panels (which have survived many years in our exposed site.) Within in a minute, all was almost dead calm
  8. Hi Enforcer I see you found the solution! I lived near wallinford, a mere snow ball's throw from you until a couple of years ago - I deliberately selected the most metologically promising place to move to - higher ground further west - it has been very successful, with both winters being snowy several times, most effective on those annoying 2degrees above freezing days with sleet all day - I know when I get back up home they'll be heaps! In answer to your question, was in Nov with a single best fall of 5 inches, measured properly on open hardstanding. good luck!
  9. I think we'll start warmish, and then cool off, but only wih a breif cooler spell mid month, before warmth arrives oround the 25th. based on this speculative interpretation, I'm going for 12.3
  10. Had 1cm from yesterday's heavy snow shower, which cleared through by about 6 in the evening. Very nearly 6 months now from the first lying snow of the 'winter' last Nov
  11. I'm (guessing) a very average 8.2, with some warmth later in the month
  12. Had 3cm here overnight, very powdery. Not a lot has fallen since though. Stayed pretty cold all day, might be the coldest March day here?
  13. Very surprised to be getting a great snow shower at the moment, very heavy squall of soft hail now followed by heavy large flaked snow. complete cover of snow in just 10mins! The showers seem to be getting a little further east and heading towards Swindon
  14. Yesterday's snow stopped at around 8Pm, leaving us with 5.5cm of wet snow, which this morning is frozen hard. Overnight snow has added 3 or 4 mm to the top, and now going sunny - second best day since Nov for us. Don't think that we are likely to get anything further today, the air is quite dry
  15. Temp has fallen from 0.7 to 0.2 in the last hour, so don't seem to be suffering from the expected slightly warmer air yet, hoping that we migt miss it altogether with the cold air expected later still catching up. about an inch (2.4cm) now, and a pic
