The car was booked in for its MOT today over Lumsden and the commute was interesting. Cars struggling to get up fairly modest uphill sections. The roads around Alford and heading inland are not great. Looks like 10cm of fresh overnight, temperatures not that bad, -7c noted around Whitehouse. Looks like a busy day clearing up at the Lecht.

The councils relaxed approached to gritting has continued today. Westhill Starbucks drive through was shut because of 3 inches of snow .

That's correct although the car, was showing around -25c. The Met takes temperature measurements at 1.5 meters, while typically a cars RTD is around 300mm. That mostly explains the difference. The coldest UK temperature I've seen was back on the 4th January 2010. The car was showing-25.6c at Whitehouse Alford.
