  1. From stv Overnight showery rain, sleet and snow will spread into the south of Scotland, with snow falling to low levels briefly before turning to rain during the early hours. Snow will fall for longer over higher towns and villages such as Peebles, Houndslow, West Linton, Biggar, Forth and possibly Penicuik. But even in these areas we shouldn’t see more than a few centimetres before it turns to rain on Friday morning. “Further north, snow will be more of an issue during Friday morning as it’ll take a little longer for the milder conditions to set in. Across the Highlands, Moray, Aberdeenshire, Perthshire and parts of Angus there could be a few centimetres of snow at low levels, but several centimetres in higher spots such as Lentran, Redburn, Dufftown and Grantown. The main focus on Friday will be in the south and east Grampians where heavy snowfall could bring up to 20cm in the worst spots along with drifting snow as the winds pick up.
  2. Il bank this with AccuWeather in all seriousness I think met office forecast might be underplaying snow potential for Scotland for tonight and tomorrow
  3. Ended up with a cm or so from hour or two precip band that moved across eastwards
  4. Precip band currently in north and north west looks like it’s forecasted to travel east/ southeast wards. Tayside / fife/ Lothian’s hotspot for snow later then?
  5. Currently light snow here, showers getting a lot further south than forecast
  6. Looking a lot more promising here on east coast for Tuesday now 5-10cm possible and 20cm possible over northern Scotland and high ground. Looking like a potential memorable event
  7. Not getting hopes up for anything substantial here, some charts show decent snow depth here other show nothing, it’s just too up in the air to know. I’ve aged around 20 years looking at the Mad thread this week.
  8. Heavy rain on for the last hour. Lots of roads flooded , what’s new, wettest few months of weather I’ve seen in my life every few days there’s at least probably 10/15mm top up + at least
  9. Snow lying on pitch at the moment, don’t worry though, met office again* saying snow will only accumulate above 250-300 metres. I have no idea why they always underestimate low lying snowfall
  10. A90 between Dundee and Forfar closed a92 between Dundee and Arbroath closed good luck to Motherwell fans trying to get to aberdeen tonight
  11. Current temp 0.3c . Heavy sleet at the moment, as the heavier bands of precip roll in definitely more snow in the mix compared to an hour or so ago
