Well was a glorious morning in Bridlington and almost clear blue skies for a short while. Was feeling warm at about 19 or even 20c. The afternoon has brought in some north sea threat / mist / low cloud with an onshore breeze having developed so temperatures have fallen back a little to closer to 18-19c but feels very pleasant given rising humidity levels. A very pleasant day it has been overall to 4.15pm and certainly an August kind of feel.

Another relatively cool and cloudy day on the coast upto 1pm.

Absolutely brutal heat 🫨

One of the best days of recent weeks for Bridlington today and about 19 possibly 20c. Thursday is supposed to be the warmest day this week but the unsettled conditions continue which is a shame as we could do with a decent longer sunny and warm spell at this stage of the summer ! July was truly abysmal but there were still decent days mixed in.

Sky news crew should be in Bridlington today doing live reports from the beaches as the wind is absolutely battering the area over the last few hours - gusting to 35 or even 40mph. Fantastic laundry drying weather as long as it doesn't rain heavily. Get your act together Sky news and update the public on severe weather LOL

Good morning Mike , boy was it wet yesterday ! Normally you get something between 3 and 10mm in Bridlington in any given rainfall event but between 7am and 7pm yesterday 33mm fell , which is a lot for here. A severe thunderstorm 2 years ago produced more in the space of 90 mins , but it will be about 3-4 years ago since this total was beaten in a general event . It sure is very lush and green out there on a positive note !

It has been like an October or early November day with some torrential rainfall in Bridlington

Well Well Well this is definitely 100% the worst morning of summer 2023 in Bridlington. An absolute deluge on and off and some road flooding in the area. Also now the easterly wind has picked up significantly, so this would easily pass for an October day ! The amount of rainfall for this part of the country has been truly amazing, given what can be an extremely dry period in the year. Everything is so green and lush , quite remarkable. It's absolutely hammering down outside now - you couldn't make it up !

Just had a very juicy downpour in Bridlington and one rumble of thunder. Got dark pretty quickly and then monsoon type rainfall. A real treat for the birds as they had a good wash after a beautiful afternoon on the east coast. Yes a sudden deluge has washed everything once again and a lush look continues this summer

I thought you would be popping into Lords to witness an epic battle between England and Australia in the Ashes series. I noticed it didn't even make 20c in London yesterday which is a poor showing for mid summer - all will be rectified soon enough though as 25c will be on the cards once again. Hull Trains are excellent , although I would never go to London without staying a night these days as taking blood pressure medication it's just too tiring ! Have a great weekend

I am attending that on the Sunday ! Do you wear ear defenders / protection for the air show ?

Storms and Convective discussion - June 2023
matt brid replied to Supacell's topic in Storms & Severe Weather
That will be the direction of the wind with the north sea coming into play. It will all kick off later as tremendous heat inland away from the east coast. Batten down the hatches Probably a few decent thunderstorms later - but time will tell.
