Lightning visible near Tonbridge, Kent. Its really active! In a good spot at the moment. This is giving me flashbacks of a certain storm last year where flashes from the channel were also visible.

26C here although high cloud is moving in from the south. Really humid and not much in the way of wind at all. Met office is predicting 30 for my location later with even a 50% chance of storms at 15:00. I think I’m too far east tbh

Last nights antics: Shelf cloud moving in

Never mind those pilots have decided to miss the approach to 08R and what I presume divert/hold

Gatwick arrivals now skirting past here. Certainly an usual approach path for gatwick as at first glance it looks like they will land 26L, but instead, approach from a northerly direction into 08R. Exciting storm!

Flashes getting brighter here

Only distant rumbles could be heard here. Did get one flash and a moderately loud boom. Otherwise we have only had a few drops of rainfall here so far today despite looking like being in the frontline to some very torrential rain. Nice disintegration of both convective potential and rain.

Fantastic day of weather here in West Kent! Todays excitement, coupled with last weeks night storm, means I have already exceeded the amount of storms that I experienced last year. One strike was a little too close to home.. One of those blinding flashes followed by instant gunshot thunder, looked on the lightning map and it was just past the opposite side of the road, behind the houses! Here are some basic phone pictures for all of you who know what you’re talking about. Not sure if the rainbow picture counts as iridescent? (No lightning pics sorry)

Developed overhead and moved SE unfortunately for me. But still some consistent, distant rumbles.

Well you say that but I often miss out on a classic Kent clipper, being in West Kent. Also missed all the midlands/northern storm fest last year. Not too annoyed as I’m almost guaranteed to succeed in heatwaves in this corner of the country. Which is just as well being a fan of the heat.

Tonight will not be fun thats for sure I accepted it last year because I was free from school for half the year (yr 11). So it didn’t bother my already destroyed sleeping schedule. I would rather boil than be get kept awake by the birds, so my window will be shut come bed time. Expecting mid 20s.

There will be a lot of shocked faces tomorrow when opening up the curtains tomorrow. my road is the worst it has been for this spell

It is now quickly melting after the heavy shower. Nice to see heavy snow again. Earlier I could really feel the suns strength through the window so damage has been done.
