  1. I agree, here we it wasn't as bad as the 2nd January for the maximum gust, but I can see over the country it was a far worse event. Generally, and I'm not just talking about this forum everyone wants to be the Main Character, there are fewer and fewer people looking at the bigger picture; it all about what has happened to me, myself personally and other evidence to the contrary is ignored.
  2. The 03Z UKV look like a slight decrease. Today 03Z on the left and 15Z yesterday on the right.
  3. I was out for 5 days for the 87 storm. Eunice, we went out for about two hours. The Electric Company isolated the transformer my house is fed from. But some of the other sections of the 11kV circuit were out for a day and then on generators for a week.
  4. Normally about 14:00, but can be later by 90minutes or so.
  5. I do have premium. But logging out I still see this. Just click around the map. Try this link it for Salisbury https://www.windy.com/51.076/-1.780/wind?gfs,50.477,-1.686,8 and your location: https://www.windy.com/51.133/1.291/wind?gfs,50.189,4.241,8
  6. I'm waiting for the MetOffice YouTube channel's Deep Dive; it will be fascinating this week.
  7. This from Windy.com for my location. So not too bad apart from GFS. I'm hoping for UKV for me, but it looks nasty elsewhere. Stay safe
  8. @Alderc Just going for a drive around from Downton. I'll report back
  9. I'll be off to Tesco later. I have a cheapy thermometer with a 1 second update. I will be interesting to see the difference. I tried this on Sunday when it was overcast Downton (35m amsl) it was 1.8C Woodfalls was 0.8C (110m amsl) then Piper's Wait in the New Forest was 0.5 (125m amsl) I assume later it will with the clear night it will be colder in the valley.
  10. Benson is reporting -7 already. It's -2.1 here. @jtay what the temperature in the valley?
  11. Looking at the SSE Powertrack app, most of New Milton was out too, as well as Somerford.
  12. Well that was pretty spectacular. One of the strikes I heard a click with the flash I don't know if it was is a actual effect, or imagined. Extreme amounts of rain too.
  13. Hooray!!!! 6℃ drop in one hour. Distance thunder too
  14. Yay the heat seems to have peaked here. 35.7℃ in my sheltered garden. It has levelled off in the past hour and I can see cirrus cloud moving toward my location
  15. Raining here now. I was expecting the rain to be warm, but it was quite cold.
  16. At the moment there is quite large Ac Cast and one to the East of me has quite impressive fallstreaks
  17. I'm lucky. Looking at the UKV 15Z today it'll all be over by 16:00 Tuesday. I feeling very sorry for people around Lincoln and Bedford areas.
  18. 8/8 cirrus here. At least it's reducing the solar radiation on the brickwork. The temperature has lowered by about 1.8℃
  19. I don't have any cavity insulation. The bricks are very porous and my neighbour fitted cavity wall insulation and ended up will terrible damp issues. The houses were built at the same time. I give it a go and see if it helps. It can't make it worse AFAICT
  20. I have go a sheet tied outside the bedroom window as well as I thought about spraying the bricks with water to cool them especially as the DPs are low. I would like this would keep the house colder.
