  1. Hot one in central London this afternoon. Very busy with pubs packed and tons of tourists, quite different to back home
  2. 28°C, humidity falling now with a current dewpoint of 10°C, high summer is here
  3. Yeah today is quite different to yesterday despite still being settled. More humid with a dewpoint of around 14c at the moment compared to 6-8C through yesterday afternoon. More cloudcover as well although this may help to keep it a tad cooler indoors.
  4. 2023 does not deserve to make it into the top 5, LOL. Superb post about that 400m hurdle race
  5. Not often it can be this clear of cloud while still 21-22°C heading into the middle of July, so pleasant!
  6. Dropped to 21°C in my room last night, 20.5°C downstairs so it's quite pleasant now. Has consistently been cooling down since the previous heatwave albeit slowly. Tonight's probably the last opportunity for temps to drop below 20°C, otherwise slowly warming up from tomorrow afternoon.
  7. Have had quite a bit of rain here yesterday and today. 15mm around Coventry, but up to 30mm just a little north. This will probably make the upcoming heat a bit more humid compared to if there was no rain in recent days; soil is quite wet now. Should dry out very quickly though into the middle of this week. Has been drier further west though so it may be a little less humid there. I'll guess the humidity will drop to around the high 30s % most days from Thursday here, maybe lower further west where it's been drier.
  8. This summer still on course to have the warmest June / July combo, 2006 or 2018 is the current record holder?
  9. I've a feeling August will ruin the chance at a shot for this summer being the warmest on record. Would be quite something following the spring, and already this year is very likely to have one of the best dry spring / summer combos in modern times given the outlook in the coming weeks. Made me think of this thread as well:
  10. Another line of showers passing just to my north which I think started to also develop overhead as there were some stronger wind gusts & a few drops briefly.
  11. Not doing too bad so far Although we had an SSW that didn't ruin the spring, May had the most unsettled conditions rather than March, it was only the last 7-10 days of May that was more unsettled. June and now July looking to be warmer and more settled rather than mixed.
  12. A better view of the structure with the next line of showers passing through
  13. Fair few rumbles of thunder earlier but as usual the core of the storms missing Coventry. Cool unstable airmass setups often more reliable than plumes for producing storms these days around this area, and today is no exception.
  14. This is what the UK has to endure for most of 2023 and 2024, enjoy!
