  1. I'm a little South of Chesterfield and have been watching the lightning that is currently over or near to Thorn / Crowle / Belton and skirting Scunthorpe. Just under 40 miles away according to Google Earth. Amazing. @ChezWeather
  2. Have you looked out the window and seen what is coming our way from a Mansfieldy direction. Hope it delivers.
  3. Here it is, apologies for possibly spamming the thread, but I thought this was quite exciting.
  4. Found it on the I-player, it wasn't a figment of my imagination. BBC iPlayer - BBC News at Six - 13/04/2023 WWW.BBC.CO.UK The latest national and international news from the BBC. Fast forward to 30:22
  5. Sorry, for tomorrow afternoon( i think, I only caught a bit of that bit)
  6. I know nothing but have just watched the 6 o'clock BBC1 national forecast. They showed a strong convergence line, and highlighted it spanning a lot of England with potential heavy rain and thunder storms. They also mentioned that the odd funnel cloud might be seen. Calling out to the boffins on here... Any truth to this? (The BBC website forecast as of now 18:50 is 2hrs old and doesn't mention this)
  7. It is coming down quite hard here near Chesterfield, must be mayhem up in the proper hills!
  8. A lot of the Peak District roads / passes are closed due to snow, have a look here... (link below) Gritting activity and snow related road closures APPS.DERBYSHIRE.GOV.UK Find out if your road is on a gritting route and when it was last gritted.
  9. Where are you sat? I'm not far away from Chez in North Wingfield. I've been watching it roll in for about forty minutes out Matlock direction and South over Derby direction. I'm not sure that we will score a direct overpass, but the light show is fantastic along with the distant rumbles and booming.
  10. Indeed, I seem to be right in line. It has gone very dark and I am waiting for the heavens to open. Looks like it could be a proper weather event (in this day and age where nothing seems to happen)
  11. The heat continues and I continue to hate it !
  12. Feels a bit cooler in here. Absolutely disgustingly stinking hot elsewhere.
  13. Just down the hill from you. This is the storm that just keeps on giving, lightning is far less frequent than round 1 though. Round 2 here but I'd say rather than overhead it is probably 1/2 way between Maidenhead and Wycombe.
